Mircea Gogoncea - Texas Guitar Competition & Festival

This unique Texas competition, designed to showcase outstanding classical guitar students, will award $6,000 in cash prizes to the winners. Over the three-day event, students can compete and attend master classes and concerts by internationally recognized guitarists.

Prize Money: 1st-$3000, 2nd-$2000, 3rd-$1000

TRANSILVANIA International Guitar Festival, Sixth Edition, , 19-24 August 2008

The TRANSILVANIA International Guitar Festival, organized by TRANSILVANIA Guitar Association, addresses to contestants of all ages and proposes to promote professionis instrumentalists and to stimulate young talents. Being on it's sixthe dition, the Festival hosts a guitar chamber music contest also. As part of the Festival will be present prominent figures of guitar.

The TRANSILVANIA International Guitar Festival responded to a large field of public's expectations - specially the young segment - by making use of the potential of classical guitar school from Transylvania and from other musical centers in Romania.

During the past five editions, the Festival consolidated as a cultural pole, becoming the most important festival of guitar from Transylvania. Opened entirely for the public, the Festival has three components which cover the the sides of artistically education:

• Recitals of famous interpreters
• Master-classes of noted international professors finalized by a Master Diploma, lectures, seminars and instrument gallery
• International contest of classical guitar
